Hi... I am currently located in US and working for company X. I want to know, if I transfer my visa to company Y for a new job, then what are the risks involved in this?
1. Are there any chances that the transfer gets rejected? If yes then will I loose the H1B status that I have filled with company X?
2. If I get the transfer then do I need to get the stamping done again? If yes then the stamping has to be done from outside US?
3. Can I return back to my home country without getting the stamping done or I need the stamping?

Rejection is possible but don't see that often... if your transfer is rejected, you can still work for your current employer.

H1 visa stamp is used only to enter into United States. H1 status is required to work in US for petitioning employer. If you have received H1 approval for new employer or even receipt of H1 filing for new employer, you can work in US on H1 legally for new employer.

If you travel outside US, and your H1 visa stamp, even from previous employer, is still valid, you can use that H1 visa stamp along with H1 petition from new employer to travel back into US.

However, if your H1 visa stamp has expired, either from previous or current employer, you must get your H1 visa stamped in your passport before you can travel to United States again.
