JX-75 Governor - mecchanical or electrical?
How does the governor work on a John Deere JX-75 walk behind mower with Kawasaki engine? It was working fine for the last 4 years and suddenly the engine speed revs high enough with the throttle and stays at a constant level, but when going into heavy grass, the engine slows way down and does not labor trying to maintain the right rpm. It acts like the governor stopped working. Is it a mechanical governor or electrical?

Can't say for that engine, but the mechanical governers work by air pressure from the blower. The connections must be loose to work properly. It's also balanced by a spring and is also connected to the throttle.
