    Do belly button piercings hurt?
I'm considering getting it done when I'm older but just wondering if it hurts, and what are the chances of it getting infected?

They hurt as much as an ear piercing. Just keep it clean and it won't get infected.

Presonally I think it hurts more than ears but everyone's different. And yes, there's a high risk of infection but like Danap said, keep it clean and you should be okay.

I'll tell you how it feels to get it done

The person will put a clamp like thing that the needle goes through for accuracy. It feels like sticking your nails into the place were the holes would be but when he puts the needle through it doesn't hurt as much because the clamp already hurts a wee bit. Its like getting your ears done slowly but its no stingy, more numb pain.

    Hope I helped =]

I think it hurt a lot worse than your ears... but it's done pretty quickly. I had a lot of problems with infection with mine - months and months of infection and it was done at a very sterile well known place. Good luck!

I haven't actually had it done but my friends have and they have said it hurts,if you clean it everyday it shouldn't get infected.

Yep, for the most part none of my friends had problems with infections. They told me they cleaned theirs with sea salt. I was never told to use that, I was told to use some antibacterial stuff. I did use that everyday, but mine was very infected and sore for a very long time.

I was told to use sea salt or antifectant stuff and I use the antifectant stuff. No problems with mine, yet..

I just got mine pierced last Thursday and I'll let you know clearly that I don't have a high pain tolerance at all and it hurt even less than an ear piercing. Most say the clamps hurt more than the needle, but I think the needle's pinch is more than the clamps. The only uncomfortable (pain) part is when you feel the needle sliding through. It's not bad at all. Frankly, when he got the needle through I was like, 'wow that wasn't bad at all'. I didn't even wince. Don't worry at all.

Its only hurts if you watch the needle go through. When I got mine the steralized everything, and marked it. I didn't think the clamp hurt at all. The part that hurt was the needle going through. It usually pops and then its like a relief feeling. But unlike most people my body rejected the peircing and it slowly came undone.
