    Maytag freezer mff2557hew too cold
One day head of lettuce on top shelf of refrigerator was frozen solid. Next day, the refrigerator started to get too warm. Called repair service, and they indicated the modulating door at the top back of fridge was bad. I ordered a new one and replaced myself. It still would not modulate unless I pushed micro switch manually. I cycled it so that the modulating door was just cracked open. Temperature in refrigerator would stay in the high 20's. The temperature in the freezer is well below zero and beyond the range of my digital thermometer. Ice cream is as hard as a rock.

It seems to me that the freezer is stuck on. How do I check this? Where is the thermostat located? Is there a service manual for this model available to the public as it appears this may commonly need repairs. This is the second service problem I have had. Unit is less than 3 years old.

    Esquire,
How do you check the cold control. I have shut the unit off and allowed it to warm to room temperature. It is recooling at the moment, but at least the refrigerator modulating valve is working.
