OK - so now I'm owed almost 45,000.00 in back child support, most of it all in judgement. How on earth do I ever collect any of it? Are there any "loan companies" that will buy this & then they pursue it?

Yes, but they would probably greatly discount it. Have you checked with your local family services agency, they should help.

A collection agency or collection attorney might be of great value.
Have you had his drivers license pulled? That often works wonders.
How much of it was what "he" was ordered to pay on a regular basis? If it is large enough you can contact an agency such as support kids and they will use their assets to collect and not charge you out of pocket to do so.
Thanks for all the great answers! Guess I should have explained that I've about exhausted every avenue - makes me madder to think that while he owes that much the court system has never had him serve a day in jail - guess I'm pretty much left on my own for trying to get any of the arrears.
Thanks again!
A collection agency and/or collection attorney could do nothing? They, of course, can't put him in jail but they sure can shake money out of him, at least in NYS.
The poster NEEDS to contact the local child support agency. They cana and will get the arrears as wella s current support owed, even if the poster has legal issues of their own, It does not affect the support of the child...
