I’m looking into obtaining an ancestral german passport. My grandparents were german, but I don’t have any info or docs from them. I tried the consulate but they were no help.
Does anyone have any advice on what I can do?

You must obtained certified copies of all documents required such as birth certificates, marriage registration, certificate of naturalization, etc. of all of them in order to prove their citizenship. You must have all in hand before you approach to the German consulate.
