Is this a tiled floor or what that it being removed. Formica is usually used on older counter tops or cabinets. It is best to use a 4" scraper razor blade with brittle tiles.
I'm with Bob . Formica on what, cabinets, counter top? Surely not floor.
Nope it is the floor. It is some kind of tiles and they are glued to the floor. How can I get this up, or can I take up the underlayment. Old house that is a rental property. Want to put down linoleum.
You can take up the underlayment and put down new. Your really going t have to to get a smooth finish for your lineoleum. See how it behaves around the cabinet bottoms. Does it go under?
I have used dry ice to make the flooring brittle enough and a large scraper(large being a stand-up gardening type tool, kind of like a garden hoe only a straight scraper blade)
This took the effort out of kneeling down to do the labor.
Good luck,
KBC
Is it coming up anywhere or stuck good? If it doesn't need to come up you could put the linoleum goes right over it and save a bunch of time and energy.
