Need to Convert Wall Outlet to Fit GE Dryer Cord
Are there electrical cord converters that you can plug into the outlet. I just moved into a condo that was built in the 70s and my dryer is about 3 yrs old and has a L shaped prong at the top and wider bottom prongs. Is there a converter I can buy? The landlord doesn't want to upgrade to the 21st century and I'm not paying for it.

I happen to be an electrician the plug on the hair dryer is called a "polorized plug" the cheapest fix would be to buy a new hair dryer (and safest)

    Hello RepairGirl

Most probably there are. Just ask in a do-it-yourself shop.
Alternatively buy a short extension cable with connectors that fit your dryer, and mount an old type male connector at the plug-in side.

    Success !

    :)
