    Title search
I suppose to go to settlement of Friday, and now the title people cannot find the title, the bank that held the title went bankrupt and now they cannot find the title of the house, we had lined up all the utility people, painters, cleaning people and locksmiths now I don't know what to do, the title people say we may or may not go to settlement up to 9 p.m. Saturday, what a mess I have taken time of from work to move in can I be reimbursed for hardship or something like that
    Thanks

Are you talking about a deed to a house or a title to a mobile home?

The deed to a house is always at the court house, it never leaves the courthouse, they will have copies, during the title search the title company reviews every sale up though the last title search or further in some cases and looks for any problem in past transfer.

Now if this is the title to a moble home they will have to get a replacement which can take some time.

Also to be honest closings often get put back for all sorts of reasons. It is common in many real estate sales for the closing to be set back several times before it actually closes.
