What is the difference between a fiddle and violin?

    Thanks

They are the same instrument. The reason one is called a fiddle and another a violin is the style of music played on them. Fiddles are used in square dancing, country kind of music, while violins are used for classical music. It is just the way that they are chosen to be played.
