Canadian citizens studying in the US
If I was an illegal alien in the US but now a Canadian citizen, can I now re-enter the US to study?

It depends on when you did overstay and how long...
If you've overstayed more than a year, you are subject to 10 years bar.
If you apply US visa during this period, your application will be denied.

But you don't need a visa to enter the US since your canadian! I guess if your going to school you will need one!

I think it really depends on the visa coordinator... since you are a canadian, it might be easier to you to get a visa! But you will need to consult an attorney... just to be sure!

Canadians can enter US as visitors on VWP (Visa Waiver Program) for a period of 90 days, but in order to obtain other status such as student, student visa (F-1) is required.

How long did it take you to obtain your citizenship in Canada after obtaining your visa to live and work in Canada. I think that this may be the solution for my boyfriend and I.
