Instal.log is a file that windows usually creates when installing apps. So the add/remove know how to uninstall. 1st, check each programs folder and see if it comes with its own uninstaller (a lot do)

What programs are you trying to remove?

The weather channel? Is it a program? Or is it a plug in for internet explorer?

Sometimes you can re-install it to make it work...

Yeah. It's a program. It keeps a tray icon so you have easy access to theweatherchannel.com

    Go to

C:\Windows\Program Files\Weather Channel (May be The Weather channel)

See if there is an Uninstall.exe and run that.

If that doesn't work try using revouninstaller or perfect uninstaller. (Google It)
