    Trial Software Expiration
I downloaded a 21 day trial version of an application to evaluate. I am nearly out of time and haven't had a chance to try it yet.

For kicks, I just tried resetting the date on my PC to see if I could squeeze a bit more time out before it expires, but the program still knew the correct date.

Is there any way to extend (or eliminate) the expiration on a trial version of shareware?

    Thanks...

Install it on another computer and actually try the puppy out this time. What's the application? What does it do for you? Maybe we can suggest a freeware alternative.

    It's CloneCD by Slysoft.

From what I read, it will copy directly from one CD to another without saving it on the hard drive. Also heard it's very simple to use. And it lets you copy protected music CDs for backups.

Someone suggested ISO Recorder, but I don't know much about it.

I noticed that there are some earlier versions of CloneCD available for trial download. Do you know if they would have their own trial period, or would they recognize the latest version I already downloaded a few weeks ago?

No, but since yours is expired, that's a pretty quick experiment. Give it a try.

BTW, CloneSoft is on a 20% discount this week (Olympics discount), so get your testing done NOW. Based on the write up on their website, I'd say this is a first rate product if it does what it says it will... and this week you can purchase it very cheaply.

Do you know if it strips off any copy protection?
