I've had my tongue pierced for 2 weeks and it's had a white rim around the top of it, is that normal?

my friends think that it's my little taste buds healing around the whole! but i dont think believe it. now i'm going to get it checked out but i wont be able to until 2 days from now. anyonw know what it could be?
