My last period was started on July 21 lasted until July 26 about a 16 days later I went to the bathroom and there was very light spotting on the tissue this happened a couple more times that week. On the 18 of August I went to the bathroom again I had spotting this time it was more of a bright pink later on that day I had spotting again it was a light pink colour. Every time I had the spotting it never went onto my underwear. Then August 19 I woke used the bathroom and I had spotting a light pink colour happening eveytime I went pee but not going onto my underwear. Then at around 3:30 I looked at my underwear and there was bright red blood on my underwear just a little bit I put a pad on and 40 min later there's a few drops of dark blood on it . I have also had light cramps from the afternoon my period is due in 2 days I don't know if this is my period or if I may be pregnant?

Spotting after a period may be due to a shift in hormones. It can also be due to ovulation as some women will notice a few days of light spotting at that time. It can happen regularly for some women, or just now and then for others. Implantation spotting, when pregnant, is noticed by some women as well.

If birth control pills, or other hormonal forms of birth control are used, spotting or irregular bleeding can also occur.
