Some issues with Suse 9.2 who can help ?
    Hello,

Installed Suse 9.2 on my laptop ( Acer aspire 3000 AMD )

Everything goes well except for connecting to Internet.

The system fails to connect to Internet with error :

The DHCP is already running on eth0.

My Laptop has a builtin modem and also the ethernet adapter ( nic ) is also builtin.

I bought a PC bus card ( PCMCIA ) nic card and installed thinking that could solve the problem, then received another error from the PC bus card : resource not available??

So I can't connect to Internet by any means.

    Can anyone help please...

    Greetings

I found a couple threads where this was discussed and solved... try the first two links out here:
"Suse 9.2""DHCP is already running" - Google Search

    Hope that helps!

    Thanks,

I've already seen all those issues, and nothing helps.
I think the problem comes from the wireless card.

    I'm still searching

Drivers issues in linux is generally not a simple solution.

If you are using a GUI be sure to check which physical hardware device is associated with eth0 through networking. I do a lot of linux based server work so most hardware is supported out of the box. I have had to fight with a couple NIC's. Also (on fedora atleast) check the file

    /etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/ifcfg-eth0

DHCP may be double referenced in this file.

As that is the config file for the NIC. Also you may want to try going with a static IP and making sure that all other NIC's are disabled.
