I have a 2 year old Trane XV90 furnace. Here is my problem:
Yesterday the AC was on while we were at work. The AC unit appears to be working fine but what I noticed is there was no air movement out of the ducts. I went down to check on the furnace blower only to find a puddle of water under my furnace. I opened up the lower service panel only to find everything all wet. There was a solid red and green light I then opened the upper service panel – again to find everything all wet. NOT GOOD. I turned the power to the furnace off/on and held the service-panel switch to make the furnace think the lower panel was on. After about 20 seconds the red and green light turned off and the blower did try and start only to shut off again – red and green light back on. I then pulled the fuse – it looked fine. Once I pulled the fuse and put it back I attempted the same scenario as above and now the blower didn’t even attempt to start the red and green light went off and then immediately came on again.
I think what happened is this: I notice some water on top of the unit from condensation from some un-insulated conduit coming form the AC unit into the furnace. This condensation leaked into the furnace causing some sort fault and the furnace to shut down. Since the AC was still running and cooling the exchanger and this caused additional condensation in the service area and underneath the unit – I’m guessing with the furnace not working that there is a condensation pump that was turned off as well.
My first question – Is there some kind of master reset that I can attempt to at least see if the blower or furnace works? Is there anything else I could try?
