    Allergies
:( I have horrible allergies and I was just wondering if anyone knows any medicines that work well? I'm currently on Singulair and it isn't helping much. I have been on so many different kinds of allergy medications, but none seem to be working. I have missed several days of school because I have gotten bad headache and fevers from my allergies. If anyone can help it would be appreciated.

    Thank you,
    Amanda

First you need to find what is causing a lot of them, and elimate them.
Soap, make up, laundry detergent, everything we touch or breathe in every day. And even then, things that don't bother you today may in 8 months from now.

So that is the most important thing to elimanate a lot of the things that bother you.

Next often you may have to take a combination of medication, I take two different pills and two separate nasal sprays a day ( three times a day)
It took that to make me almost free.

You need to work with a good alergy clinic and doctor

Sudafed seems to have a good line of medications for allergy symptoms. Another one might be Advil. Remember that you body does develop an immunity to medications, so u might want to talk to your doctor about switching. Singulair didn't seem to work for me much. Good luck.

    Hi, Insane,
Since you tried Singulair, I assume you already been to a Doctor. Tried an allergy specialists yet?. meaning your first doctor might be a family doctor, not a specialist with allergies.
Singulair didn't work for my wife either. Currently, she uses nose spray, like Nasonex, but doesn't seem to have the more serious issues as you.
As another answer said, it might take a combination of two medications to find relief. If one medication does not help, please go back to doctor and tell him/her. It's the only way he/she will know to change it, and try something else.
I do wish you the best, and good luck.

Thanks for all that answered, but I've been to an allergy specialist and he put me on many combinations... all didn't work. At one point I was on four different ones at once. My Dad said that he had to get shots in his nose for his allergies, but I don't really want to do that every month. I have tried to eliminate the things that I am allergic to, but I'm an animal lover and allergic to most animals. Some even cause my asthma (horses, dogs, cats,. ). Pollen is another problem, but I live in the woods, so I can't really do anything about that. Thanks for the ideas.
