Should I change my birth control pill?
Hi, I'm using the pill as birth control method.its one week before my period suppose to start and for the first time I'm having breast tenderness and a brownish discharge. Does this mean the pill isn't controlling my hormones the way it should anymore? Should I change?

How long have you been on this pill? Have you missed any days? Have you taken it at the same time every day?

I am also on the pill and have been for about 5 or 6 years. I have experienced this also. A couple of months ago my pharmacy changed my pill because they were out of my normal kind. They said it was almost the same but when I stated taking it I started having symptoms like you described but worse. The doctors said it could be due to the different pills, stress, or maybe a mild infection. Really, anything can effect it. I would read up on the different types of birth control pills and such there is before stopping my curent pill.My doctor put me on Triphasil 28 because its been around for 30 years or so and its not one of the new drugs with unknown side effects. Its worked great for me. I would talk to my doctor first thing if I were you most of them are very knowledgeable and honest about the side effects of each method and will tell you which they would recommend. How this helps.
