My cousin was murdered, she has 2 children, the children's fathers are only in and out they do not raise the children. My Aunt (their Grandmother) wants custody and it needs to happen fast so these children don't get split up during this horrible time for them... whats the first step?:(

1. The father gets custody unless he just does not want it, and/or it is proved he would be a threat to the children.
So you hire an attorney and file for an emergancy custody order pending a court hearing.
