Worth of an oil painting on velvet
Can anyone help, what is the worth of this painting by Ralph Burke Tyree?
It is a velvet painting titled "Polynesian Nude"

    Hi, Mahiburger!

I'm sorry, but I did need to remove the image of the front of the painting that you had posted. Although it is fine art and worthy of appreciation in an artistic sense, it was just a little too risqué to be posted on this site which is also viewed by children. I hope that you don't mind.

I do note that on the Internet, there are listed other works by that artist. I will keep looking to find similar/comparable works by him to see what they might be worth monetarily.

You might want to click on the following search also.

    Thanks!

I would like to personally apologize for posting the picture. I have all grown children and just considered it as a painting and forgot what is on it. I will definitely think before I post something again. Again I would like to apologize for that.

Thanks, Mahiburger! Yes, I would just consider it to be a painting to that was fine art. If this were a site that was just totally devoted to art, then it would be fine to post the image.

As I have already stated, I will continue to look to find similar/comparable works by him to see what they might be worth monetarily.

    Mahiburger,
I may be able to help. Send me a photo, via private message, of the painting and the dimensions of the work. I could give you an idea then of a market value range for the Tyree.

I can't believe you removed the image under the guise that children read this site.

    It is art not porn.

My answer to this question is that "clough" is not qualified to answer this question... most art experts aren't prudes.
