Leaking water from around my air vent
Hello, we just moved into our house 2weeks ago built in 2006 and when I got out of the bath this morning about 5-10 min. later I noticed a leak from my vent in living room downstairs which is directly underneath Tub. Now there is NO water coming from the vent just around the vent. That bath tub has been used at least 5-6 times since we lived here! ( We are the first to live in the home). Please tell me this is something MINOR!

Did you fill the tub, then get in causing water to go into the overflow tube?

Also, are you taking showers in the tub? Cheers, Tom

No the tub does not have a shower It is an oversized soak tub! The water didn't overflow!

I would then look for a leak around the drain and drain piping.

    Murachanian...

Eliminate the obvious stuff like Hkstroud suggested... fill tub to the overflow and let it overflow into the overflow assembly... then drain the tub while looking at all pipes you can see. If nothing obvious presents itself above the floor, but water shows up at ceiling below then I recommend that you call your real estate agent... see if they can help.

The house should be under warranty.

    Let us know what happens...
