    Physics is haunting me.
This is another question id highly appreciate you guys help me with

A driver has a reaction time of 0.5s and the maximum deceleration of his car is 6.0m/s2. He is driving at 20 m/s when suddenly he sees an obstacle in the road 35 m in front of him.
    a)
Can he stop the car in time to avoid a collision?
    b)
How fast was the car going 3 seconds after he saw the obstacle?
    c)
The speed limit in the area is 60 km/hr. If he were obeying the speed limit, would the outcome be any different? If so, how?

    Hello "malb"

I'm not going to provide you the reply : that you have to do yourself ! But I'll try to set you in the right direction !

    Delay time = 0.5 sec
    Max decel. = 6.0m/s2.
    Ini. Speed = 20 m/s (= 72 Km/sec)
    Total L = 35 meter.
    Before reacting 0.5 x 20 mtr = 10 mtr. Was already driven.
Remains a total of 25 meter to decelerate = distance
(Total time required to stop = 20/6 sec.)

With these data you can now calculate the answer to the questions.

You can find how to calculate that here (LINK)

Make sure to check the Vehicle Stopping Distance Calculator to see if your reply is correct.

    Success !

    :)
