When she wants to slow down
I met a fantastic girl who went away for a couple months. We became very close on the phone, talking several times a day sometimes for hours at a time. Then we met in another city for 4 nights. We took it to another level and were very close physically, kissing and holding each other all night but she would not allow me to have sex with her. We continued our relationship on the phone and it became even stronger. She started to talk about our future together and I went along with it. She told all her friends that we were dating and I did the same. Then we met again in another city for 5 nights. The first 2 nights were awesome. We were all over each other during the day and night but she still would not have sex. We just held each other and kissed.
Then I suddenly started to feel like she was pulling away. She was less affectionate during the day and at night she would turn her back. I didn't say anything and I returned home.
She came back home this week and I could still sense something. She wasn't calling as much and things just seemed to be different.
I finally asked her about it and she said she though we moved too fast. She does not feel like we know one another well enough to be in a committed relationship and she wants to date me for a period before she makes that decision.
I think this makes sense but I'm having a very difficult time with it because It's so difficult to go backwards with my feelings. I'm also having a difficult time figuring out why she refused to have sex.
I'm looking for ways to cope. I would like nothing more than to bring our relationship back to where it was in the beginning because it was wonderful. I was able to express my love and feel totally loved in return.
I just want to make all the right moves. I don't want to do anything that will push her farther away.
