HELP! Lol I've been having major flashbacks of a chldhood movie of mine,but haven't a clue what it is! I know it must have been from the 80's, and it was a children's cartoon/fantasy movie. All I recal is a funny old man traveling through the forest and taking a rest to have some cider and bread, when he came upon a magical tree. I can't recall what happens from there, but it's really bothering me. Does anyone have a clue what kids movie it could be?

Does he fall asleep under the tree and when he awakens he can understand the animals?

No--But I also remember one of the chars/ I think female picking up a magic chicken and her hands getting stuck to it, and when other towns people tried to pull her off the chicken they all got stuck to her, and a bunch of towns people all got stuck to her w/ their hands on eachother's back and they did something to get un stuck, but I can't remember what... Any ideas at all? I'm so sure it was like an old anime movie from like, the 80's... some sort of
