    Kenmore dryer not heating enough
My kenmore dryer will start heating, igniter comes on, gas lights and burns for a while. Then the flame stops. After a short while, the igniter comes on again, but no flame starts. I smell no gas. The igniter turns off and the dryer continues to just tumble with no heat. I've cleaned the lint catcher and the exhaust hose for clogs and found none.

Check the coils. More than likely they are bad and need replaced. Not expensive and easy to fix

The coils would be underneath the drum also?

Yes, they work in conjunction with the gas valve

OK, that sure sounds like the problem. Thanks!
