You did not specify the exact model, but there should be a round, black knob on the dash. This knob is called the "Height Adjustment Knob". If you turn the knob to the LEFT, it LOWERS the deck... if you turn the knob to the RIGHT, it RAISES the deck. You want to turn the knob to the RIGHT to raise the deck to fix your problem. Also, make sure that the ATTACHMENT LIFT LEVER is in the correct position. PULLED BACK RAISES the deck and eack position you go forward, (away from operator) LOWERS the deck. Between these two items, you should be all set. Hope this helps!
Most Craftsman mower do not have a knob but rather a handle with a button to raise and lower the deck. You press the bottin and then pull back to raise or push forward to lower the deck. If you have your deck height set at 6 its as high as it can go. There is a small amount of adjustment on that linkage abut oyu'd be lucky to get another inch of height. How long do you want your grass to be when you cut, how many inches?
