Moen nakes a cartridge puller ,(see image) if your cartridge is stuck and hard to remove. Or were you asking directions on how to take the faucet apart?Quote:

Check your local home centers, some of them will rent you that puller since you probably only need it once this lifetime.
Unfortunately, according to Moen, this tool is used for only their single faucets. When I called them, they did not have a solution. So I made my own tool out of plumbers perforated band. I bent the band on each side of one hole to fit in the pipe holding the cartridge, screwed the screw in through the band into the cartridge (i.e. the screw that normally attaches the stem to the cartridge), wrapped a cloth around the band to prevent my hand for getting cut, and tugged on the band until the cartridge pulled out. In the manner, I did not have to use the plastic stem (which may have broke when pulled with needle nose pliers. Both cartridges were very difficult to get out because they were in there for 18 years. I also made a removal tool for the retainer nut from a 37 cent water sprinkler connecter by hack sawing the notches out to specs. I actually took the retainer nuts out with a flat head screwdriver, just pushing it counterclockwise. Used my tool to snunggly seat the new cartridge.
Congratulations! That makes you a plumbing expert in my book. TomQuote:
