My 3 month old boerboel puppy bites me all the time.
When he is playing he will run up to me and just bite me even though I am not part of the play session.
When I do play with him he bites my hand and tries to bite my face.
He is never alone as I work part time and there is always someone at home with him and he has plenty of toys.
I have tried spraying him with citronella water, put tabasco sauce etc on my hands (which he enjoys it seems) and taking my hands away as well as saying no and ignoring him.
Nothing seems to work please help me with some advice as all the various training aids and sites all advise the same things and I have tried them to no avail

Exactly, Roborat. Grab him by the scruff of his neck and bite his ear. You have to make sure he understands that biting is off limits.

I wouldn't bite him back, pups just need to learn it hurts, let him nip your hand and let out a high pitched 'OUCH!' and (important!) let the dog remove its mouth on its own, do not take your hand away. Also, try not to play rough with him at first, leave the rough play for his other doggie friends.

I am trying time outs and they seem to be working.. but she still bites and attacks aggressively when bored.. so I found stimulating her and keeping a calm but firm no and time out if she oversteps my mark works

The reason your pup plays with his mouth is that it's how puppies his age play together. It's normal behavior. Obviously, it's not something you want to encourage, but at the same time it's easy to over correct a puppy for nipping. I think age does play a significant part in this. My puppy went through the same thing at 3 months. Now he's 4 1/2 months, and although he is teething, the problem has definitely subsided.

If your pup bites you, you give a high pitched "ow" (I say "ai!"). Then it's immediately game over. You stand up and do something else for a minute. You can even close your eyes to show him that you're not playing anymore. Then you can play again if you want to, no hard feelings. It's not a perfect system, but it will definitely work with time. The one thing your pup doesn't want is for you to stop playing.

I haven't used tobasco because the long-term pepper burn seems rather mean to me. The product I have heard recommended for the method you've talked about is Bitter Yuck (lime or apple flavor). I haven't tried it, but it sounds better than tobasco or a citronella spray to the face.

I would agree with connie29 do not bite the puppy back just let him know that his puppy biting hurts... besides they grow out of it
