My land lord is going to put a lock on my door with all my belongings inside. I have not received any notice in writing. Is it legal to put a lock on someone's door ? What do I need to do at this point?
Thanks,

There's a "sticky" at the top of this forum with a link to each state's landlord / tenant laws. And / or you can Google "south carolina property code" and see what you come up with. Also, do you have a written lease and what does it say. Some state's allow for legal lock outs if proper proceedures are followed. They will have to let you back in, though. It's basically used to force a face - to - face meeting. Have you been dodging the landlord?
As far as eviction proceedures... that will be outlined in the places I mentioned, too. It varies quite a bit from state to state as to how long it can take to get all the way through an eviction procedure?
Have you not paid rent? Are you not going to? Either work something out with your landlord or expect to be evicted. If they attempt an unlawful eviction tell them what the law states they can do. If they step outside the law you'll have to sue them in civil court to either change their behavior or for damages if you experience any.
