    Roommate Disputes
My friend and her roommate were having lots of problems that started after they signed their lease for another year. They decided that my friend was going to move out and find someone to take over her part of the lease. My friend was able to find a place to move to and a person to take over the lease, when her roommate changed her mind and said she was going to move out and my friend had to stay there. So my friend found someone to move into her current apartment, and now her roommate refuses to move out and says that my friend has to move out. Is there anything my friend can do about her manipulative roommate who won't commit to anything?

Well, first of all does the landlord know what's going on? Is the rent getting paid while all of this is going on? Knowing the parties involved... do you think if the landlord got involved it would force some action? That's one option. As a landlord I've found that I can sometimes affect an outcome a little more effectively than just roomates battling it out!
