    Chain saw
I have a 14" chain saw but haven't used it in several years. I put in gas and oil and it started right up. I changed the saw blade and added gear and sprocket oil. Now the saw smokes and drips oil. Also the blade doesn't come to a complete stop when the trigger is released. I moves at a slow pace unless I use the kick back handle. Any suggestions

I'm not much into chainsaws, either the brake is worn out, or its running a little too fast for it to stop, as for the oil, what ratio are you using? IF its really old a carb rebuild isn't a bad idea.

    HI,
As a chain saw operator on many occasions, it's normal for the ones I have used to idle slowly, slowly turning the chain. It usually won't completely stop unless the Brake handle is engaged.
As for the smoking, I agree with the previous answer. You might have too much oil in your gas mixture. It is a "miracle" that it started right up after several years!
