    Capacitor connections
I replaced the capaitor in the unit outside, the fan is working now, but seems as if the compressor is not engaging, also the new capacitor is a two prong, old was a three, how do I make sure it is connected correctly. Thanks

Sounds like you need the double capacitor, what did you do with the extra wire, or were only 2 wires connected?

There should be two x uf markings and a common. One is for the compressor. The other the fan. Guess why your compressor doesn't work?

Usually you have to do some creative wiring to replace the cap for the fan while keeping the compressor cap intact i.e. using 2 of the 3 terminals.
