    Just wondering

My period is never late, mostly it comes a week or four days before it is due. However this month I had some light spotting and thought that my period was about to start. It was due yesterday & still all I am getting is this light spotting, kind of brownish/pinkish color. I never know when I am ovulating because I have such irregular periods so I don't even know if I had sex during the time I was ovulating or not. I have not been on birth control for years, and last year I had an ectopic pregnancy & once I recovered from that I still did not go back on birth control, so yes, I have been having unprotected sex & I still wasn't getting pregnant. I just assumed that at 41 I was going through menopuase and therefore unable to get pregnant. But the mere fact that my period hasn't even started I am beginning to wonder if what I am seeing is implantation bleeding. Can anyone shed some light on it for me please. I haven't done a pregnancy test as I have had four miscarriages in the past three years and I am afraid to find out if I am pregnant or not. :(
I know how silly that muct sound but I really am a little scared.

At 41, odds decrease for getting pregnant, but it certainly does still happen for some women. As long as you are having periods, there usually is still the possibility of pregnancy... menopause is determined when you have gone a year without a period. Many women will have a few years of periods being a bit off as they lead up to full menopause. This is perimenopause, and some women do get surprised by an unexpected pregnancy during this time!
Obviously you will have to wait a bit longer and see if your period is just late this time. If you still don't have a period in about a week, try a pregnancy test. Could be the start of perimenopause, could be your period is just off, could be a possible pregnancy, etc..

    Myth
Before having my twins I had a period that just wasn't a period... no I wasn't pregnant at the time... but this odd spotting could simply be just that an odd period

    Thank you so very much.
I actually did do a pregnancy test & it was negitive, and still no sign of any heavy blood, just thse spotting.
I am going to seemy gynecologist on Saturday, see if he can offer any answers. I guess it must just be a hormone imbalance he keeps telling me, but I just need to be sure that it's not cancer or anything like that.

It is always worrying when your body starts doing something out of the norm. Wise to have things checked out. Hope all is well... :)
