I had my period about a week and a half ago. Since then my boyfriend and I have had unprotected sex and have not used any means of birth control. After having sex a few days ago I started to spot lightly and this has never happened to me before.I am going through a lot of stress at the moment could this be why? I have taken a pregnancy test and it has came out negative is it to late to tell if I am pregnant?

Since you were having unprotected sex, can we assume you want to be pregnant ? But can you be, yes of course having unprotected sex is how it happens, and for example condoms alone have close to a 10 percent failure rate, so even with them you are not totally safe.

But it is too early for the home tests, you will have to wait or go see your doctor

You could be pregnant, or the spotting could be due to some irritation from the recent intercourse... which is not uncommon. As the others have said, you'll need to give it a bit more time before you test... see what happens when your next period is due.

I agree with what DoulaLC says. I will tell you I have to same problem sometimes, which is from the stress I'm under.. I have also gone to the hospital because of acid reflex , which the doctor say was caused by stress... if you are under a lot of stress it will cause you body to act in different ways. But if your really worried you might be pregnant you should go get you self checked out but you never know that could be a point of stress that is causing you body to act differently.(highly suggest going to a doctor)

I went and got a pregnancy test and it was negative.. I guess it is to early to tell.. I will just wait and see.
