I'm 17 I want to be emanceped from my mom can I do it myself. And she do have food in the house at all time .

First, you have to be able to spell the word.

Are you still in school? If so, will you graduate and get a h.s. diploma? Do you have a plan to make at least $1000 a month take-home once you move out?

In order to be emancipated you have to prove to a judge that you have your own place of residence and a job to keep the residence as well as utilities and food. It can take some time to get accomplished so you might just want to wait until you turn 18 and move out.

Depends somewhat by State but "usually" you have to be totally self supporting, already have a place to live (plus, of course, the job), some time on a job - steady employment. I've seen emancipation refused by the Judge if the person is still in high school.

The Courts do not want you to be the responsibility of the State.

I don't understand why you think her having food in her house is important - ?

Are you saying you are not neglected or abused, you just want to be on your own?
