    Gr.12 Calculus and Vectors
    6) Faye, Nene, And Kaplesh leave school from the same front entrance at the same time. Faye walks north at a speed of 1 m/s and Nene jogs west at a speed of 2.5 m/s. Kaplesh walks east at 1.5 m/s for a distance of 12m and then turns south at the same speed. After 2 min, what is the distance between the friends in each pair?
a)Faye and Nene b) Nene and Kaplesh c)Faye and Kaplesh

Only question out of my ISU I'm stuck on everything else seems to be easy,
Thanks once again in advance guys.

You need to determine how far each walks in the 2 minutes, and determine their coordinates at that point. Define the coordinate of the school entrance as (0,0). Faye's position after two minutes would be 1m/s x 60s/min x 2 min = 120m north, or (0,120). Nene's position will be 2.5m/s x 120 sec = 300 meters west, or (-300,0). So at that point in time the distance between Faye and Nene is the distance between points (-300,0) and (0,120) - do you know how to calculate that (using Pythagorian theorem)? Then for the other questions use a similar method to determine Kaplesh's position, and the distances asked. Post back if this isn't clear.

K got it, I was just confused in the diagram but I drew it using a simple graph, wow I should pay attention more thank you sir.
