Hi I just wanted some feedback regarding how I should go about writing up a contract that will prove that a dog that was just recently given to me is mine. One of my co-workers "ordered" a Puggle online. I think that was a bad move, (considering he probably came from a puppy mill), but now she had this dog and she realized she didn't have time to care for him. She had him shipped over from Missouri and paid over $700.00 for him, (including airfare). She recently told me that she didn't have time for him and wanted to find him a "good home". I, being the dog lover that I am, jumped on it. I told her that I would buy the dog from her, (I already have two Pugs). She refused payment for the dog and gave him to me for "free". I was a little hesitant to do this because of the way she seemed to just want to "get rid" of him. In any case, I ended up taking him, am still waiting for her to give me his papers and I need advice on how to write up a contract that she can sign stating he is mine. Is it a good idea to do this an also, how should I word it? What if she asks for money now that I have him? I have a feeling she's going to change her mind and want him back but I love the little guy now and wouldn't give him up for the world. One more thing: If she doesn't give me the papers I won't know when and if he's ever had any vaccinations, what do I tell the vet? Any ideas would be so helpful... Buddy, his new name, is part of my family. Thank you so much.
Christine
