As you all know, my job situation lately has been crazy.

First I was frantically looking for a job. And couldn't find anything.

Then I got a job at a private practice, worked there for a month, and was let go so that the person I replaced could come back, because he didn't like his new job.

Then I got a job at a Vision Center located in a certain large retail store. I LOVE it.

Then I got a job cleaning houses and one delivering papers, decided that three jobs was just too much, so I wanted to look for one full time second one..

NOW, I decided to start looking for a second job to supplement my income and catch up on bills. So, I interviewed for a caregiver position for developmentally disabled adults. I did my observation today. I love it. I'm really excited to start.

So, just to let you all know, I'm doing great... But my appearances here might be a little impaired while I get used to all the riff raff...

What do you do for work? What's the best part?

As you know, I am a registered nurse working in Labor & Delivery. The best part of my job is when the father of the baby cries seeing his newborn baby. This tugs at my heart strings.

The worst part is having to deliver a baby who died in-utero days or weeks earlier.

Aw, that would be heartbreaking.

I'm the Assistant Registrar at a small private college.

Working with the students is the best thing ever---making someone's career happen is awesome.

Working with Admissions is the worst--I am not about numbers, but about ethics and compliance, and it's hard to see things the same way Admissions does.

I'm a data analyst. I create financial reports for different aspects of the company. We use a variety of mathematical functions in applications such as Access and Excel to get the desired data needed.

Growing up, I hated math and never had much of an understanding of it. Therefore, was always insecure with it.

I like my job because it forces me to use math everyday, and I learn more and more and become more confident in myself by using the one thing that I swore I would never have to use in my career because I hated it (MATH)!
Thus, by obtaining this knowledge, I can use it in other software applications-which is good to put on my resume should I ever make an important career change.

The only thing I don't really like about my current position-is when there is downtime and the boss hollars over to me-"hey!What are you working on":D

I raise beef cattle, and this is the second-worst part of my job. The worst is having to put down an animal that is beyond hope. The best is finding a new calf already up and sucking lustily at the teat.

Um...

I run a restaurant while day trading to make a little bit of cash on the side... but just recently quit my neuroscience lab research position as well as my position in the morgue as a ME's assistant...

Good thing about the restaurant... it's mine.
Bad thing about the resataurant... starting in September, I work about 75 hours a week.

Good thing about day trading... I'm pretty good at it.
Bad thing about day trading... when I'm off, I'm OFF!

Good thing about research... um... nothing. Really nothing. Nothing fun at all about testing drugs on rats, then later cutting them up to see what happened.

Good thing about the morgue position... I learned quite a bit about the human body. Got a lot of hands-on exp.
Bad thing about the morgue... seeing families come in and having to ID their loved ones... the realization that SO many people die everyday in the worst possible ways... and some of the bodies that come in... are unbearable.
