    Really damaged hair
Within the last year I've gone from having long hair to very short hair. My natural texture is very curly but for the last 3 years I've been chemically straightening my hair as well as using a straightener every day. Because my hair is naturally curly I only shampoo and condition once a week. All this along with various product use has left me with very dry, brittle hair that breaks easily. I have tons of split ends and my hair feels like straw.

Is there anything I can do to get my hair healthy? I realize that it won't be an overnight fix but I'd like to begin taking the steps to correct this now. I've heard that prenatal pills or Biofen can help, is this true?

Try aussie deep conditioner. You leave it in for three minutes. If your hair is really that bad I'd use it daily, and if you can lay off the chemicals and straightner for a while it'd probably be for the best.

Hello, there. Do you use a serum before you use a flat iron. Make sure that your using thermal products which protects your hair from the heat. Also if you're a back comber try and stear away from so much of that.chemically straightening your hair should only be done the regrowth, and yes it is like a perm it will make your hair dry. Try using a recondtoner. Kpac is an awesome product for that and it is a joico line.

It needs deep conditioning so you'll need to hot oit your hair a lot. Put some baby oil too before you go to bed then shampoo it. Take vitamin E and eat s lot of vegetable and fruits. Be patient but it works.

If your ends are already really badly split you probably cannot repair those, you'll have to cut those off. When my hair got really damaged I actually trimmed my own hair for awhile, just took a little bit off every 2 weeks or so - and deep condition it definitely.

When you wash your hair only wash the roots, near the scalp for now, (unless you are putting tons of sticky product in your hair). When you are rinsing your hair the soap that rinses through your hair from your roots will actually help clean the rest of your hair without directly applying the shampoo to that area. Even moisturizing shampoo can dry out really damaged hair. Neutrogena has some great deep conditioners. I used that until my hair actually got too much build up and was infused with moisture (took a few weeks) and then I used an anti-residue shampoo. (once a week max). Be sure you are conditioning very thoroughly. You can even deep condition with whatever conditioner you have at home now. Be sure you really massage into your hair (specifically the ends because the roots should naturally be more oily) and then put a very warm damp towel around your head for awhile.

Do you have to use a straightener all the time? Try not too - even with thermal products you can still strip and fry your hair. Try to find a way to sport your natural curls - many women would LOVE to have them. Might be a better option for healthier hair.

Well, like I put in another post I'd recommend buying really rich conditioners and leaving them in over-night. I agree with keri402 aussie leave in conditioner is really good but instead of 3mins leave for over-night. "Naked" is also a good product. I have never heard of those pills lol but try eating foods high in natural oils like, tuna, olive oil and omega 3. Alternativily there is pills you can buy for your hair to help repair it from within. You can pick these up in chemists or some supermarkets.

    Xx
