    Dog Eats Ants
    Just wondering...
My pomapoo sits in the window and eats ants. I can't figure out how they're getting in, and don't want to put traps out because he's eating the ants, and I don't want to poison him-
But can eating ants make him sick?
He seems fine, but I have to keep yelling at him to get down and stop eating them- can I just leave him alone and let him take care of our ant issue in his own way (by devouring them all) or should I keep an eye on him and try to stop him?
    Thanks! :D

Many dogs eat bugs I have never heard of any dog getting sick from eating common bugs like ants. Some countries chocolate covered ants are considered a delicacy and many bugs have a lot of protein and other nutrients. I wouldn't worry about him eating ants.

    Yahoo! Search - Web Search

Fire ants and other poisonous type ants might be different story.

    What is he--an aardbark? Sorry.
Seriously, the only problem I see is if there is such a supply of ants is that maybe a neighbor could be poisoning them and they could be carrying the poison on or in their bodies into your house. Is there a source of water near the window that is attracting them? You need to get rid of them at the source.

Not sure how long a poisoned ant can live to travel that far. When I spray ant poison ants usually don't make it very far before they die.
