Can I be held accountable for my boyfriends debt if we live together?

I live in Ontario, Canada.

Well, that depends on if your name is attatched to the debt in any way.

Unless you signed for the debt, no.

You are not responsible for any of his debts unless they are somehow JOINT debts.

BUT if a Judgment is obtained against anything held jointly with you can be seized to pay that Judgment - for example, a joint bank account. Anything in a joint account is all yours AND all his and can and will be taken.

If you see a Judgment looming I would separate your finances immediately.
