I met a guy about a month ago, and last weekend he asked me to the movies. He brought his cousin along, and his cousin's girlfriend, but his cousin and myself have been friends for longer than I've even known the guy.

But I digress. After we saw the movie, I was getting in my car to leave, and he just stood and stared at me for about a minute. Finally, his cousin had to drag him into his car to leave. The next day I left him a message on Facebook saying what a good time I had. He replied saying he did as well, but we wouldn't be able to go out again for a while because he was going on a road trip. Since he's been gone he's sent me two messages, one asking me when my college started. Is he interested, or is he just making small talk?

Sounds like he is interested enough to see where things might go.

It sounds like he's intereseted but maybe just a little bit shy... when I met my current boyfriend he was just like that. I ended up doing all the work when it came to making the first move. I felt a little forward but it turned out to be very rewarding and he was so grateful I did! Some guys are just shy or unsure of themselves. But good luck :)

Does sound like he's interested, if he wasn't than he wouldn't had reached you again. It's a "guy" thing, if the guy reaches you than is because he's interested if he didn't than you know he isn't.
