    Bryant evolution series 90i
I need some help. I am purchasing an older home built in 1959 ( 3,500 sq ft ) which has oil heat and I live in the northeast.

I am removing the oil tank and heater and may purchase a new hvac system and I really am looking for the best system. I generally use a high end hvac company that has there own metal fabrication shop and has been installing systems for over 30 years.

Here is the system that I may be getting

Bryant deluxe plus 90i ,2 stage model 355aav060120
Bryant deluxe condensing unit 15 seer model 165ana048
    Bryant evaporator coil model cnpvp4824ata
    Bryant evolution control
    Honeywell filter media cleaner
    PRICE $ 12,700

Any feedback would be very helpful concerning choice of models, price and or any other suggestions regarding a new system.

    Many thanks

It won't come with a piston. They are installed with a txv now from the factory. Government regulations 13 seer or higher.

Bryant is made by Carrier and the only difference is the shape of the outdoor condensing unit box. They use different model numbers, if I were you I would call a Carrier dealer and show him what you have been quoted in the way of equipment but do not show him the price for any reason. Then you can compare the same equipment by prices that you get for two different companies.

Unless there is a lot of labor charges that I am unaware of the price sounds high, unless the company is going to install a complete duct system.

One other thing, some power companies will give you a large rebate for putting in a 13 SEER or better.

Bryant equipment cost is less than Carrier but you have yo compare apples to apples like letmetellu said.

    Thanks letmetellu and hvac1000

When I received my original qoute we noticed that the return coming from the unit was 3 inches away from most of the ducts in the basement. We asked the owner if he new anything about it and he had no idea why there was so much of a gap, he thinks that its been like that for many years.

Do you think that there is a need to have the ducts cleaned ?
