    A little confused
Quick rundown: The father of my son is barely around.. the baby is 13 months old now and has no idea who his father is.. and he's backed up about 7 grand in childsupport.

He told me he would sign his rights over if I dropped the CS order.. well he ended up getting arrested for violating probation and got a warrant for failure to pay Child support. I just got a call to come in Monday apprently he signed over his rights in jail and the agreement was for me to drop the CS order.. so he can be released.. im so confused because I thought the baby would have someone to adopt him first and I mnot with anyone? So I don't understand this at all.. would I need a lawyer? Can I just call anyone to come over and help me understand the paper work?

He may think that his signing away his rights gets him off the hook for getting out of paying child support. Get a copy and see if you can see anything that actually states he is no longer responsible for child support. Signing away his rights should merely mean that he doesn't expect you to include him in decisions in her life.
I think he was tricked or not made aware that he is still responsible for child support.

I don't think he actually signed away his rights. In order for this to happen you both have to agree upon it and a judge also has to sign off on it. He may have done some preliminary paperwork towards it but you just show up in court and tell them that you don't want his rights terminated.
