    Unethical Mason
My Mason has taken my money and has not returned to finish the work!
My Husband died 4-weeks ago and I feel I am being taken advantage of by this conbtractor. I paid a Mason Contractor to build a brick wall in the front of my home. I live in Bowie, Maryland. I have a in-complete project, the front of my home looks a mess and I have trash and debris left in my driveway by the contractor. I have called him every day for the past 2-weeks. Each time I speak to him he says he will be here in an hour and he never shows up.

I have the contractor's license plate number to his truck, his Maryland driver's license number and his home address. What do you suggest I do?

Is there a "time is of the essence" clause in the contract?

Otherwise it's your word against his about what is a reasonable time frame here.

I would certainly send him a letter, get a receipt, demand that the job be finished by a deadline.

, I suggest that you compose a letter stating that he has been paid in full for a job that is not yet completed.

Explain to him that numerous attempts have been made to contact him and several promises to finish the job have been made by himself, to no avail, therefore you have no option but to contact your Solicitor whom he will be hearing from very soon.

    Wait for a reply...
