    The White, 6 legs, bug

Well I'm baby sitting and the kid I'm babysitting tell me that there is a white bug.. I have no clue what it is. Its maybe the size of a little aun.. maybe a tad bigger.. it has no wings.. long antenna's and it looks like it loves to climb.

I have looked all over the internet to figure what it was.. but I can't find anything:confused:

If you can help me that would be great!

Here are a couple sites to check (never mind the spider reference). In case you don't find it, could you give a better description or post a photo? I'm guessing 'aun' supposed to be 'ant,' what body type (large abdomen, pinched waist like ant, smooth or w/ridges... )?

    Hi Kendra,
It sounds like it is a young silverfish. Google it, and look at a juvenile. I think you'll find that it matches your little bug. They don't hurt you, only eat your stuff.

    Hi there,

I searched all over the internet to try to find out what the white bug that I found in my kitchen was. I couldn't find a pic of it anywhere EXCEPT for the one provided by MouseKilledCat... that was exactly what I found! I was hellbent on figuring out what the thing was. My partner was going to bring the specimen into the Entomology Dept at Cornell University (we live in Ithaca, he's an alum), but after a few hours of dedicated research, we figured out what it was!! Drumroll please...

It's a Masked Hunter, which is a kind of "Assassin Bug". The immature insects have a sticky substance on them that they use to cover themselves in dust, dirt, etc... whatever they find in the cracks & crevices of the floor. That's the white fuzzy-looking stuff in the pic. Google them... you'll find a lot more info.
