Wiring a Chandelier with a Dimmer Switch
I'm installing a New Chandelier with a Dimmer Switch but can not get the Dimmer switch to turn the Chandelier On or Off.

A regular toggle switch has power but also does not activate Chandelier.

The Ceiling Fixture has (2) Black Wires, (2) White Wires and (1) Ground.

The Chandelier has (2) Wires: One wire can be split into Two separate wires; One of these wires has a White Strip down the center.

The other separate Chandelier wire I assume is a ground.

The Light Switch has a Ground, a White and Black Wire.

How can I wire correctly so I can activate the Chandlier from the Dimmer Switch?

    Thanks for Your Help,

    Vinnie

The person wiring the ceiling box should have mark the white wire coming from the switch with black tape or paint. Now you have to figure out which white wire is the neutral and which is the hot wire coming from the switch. Assuming you don't have a meter to to this with.

Temporarily connect the chandelier wire with the white stripe to the ground wire of the ceiling box. Connect the other wire from the chandelier to one of the white wires. Turn switch on. If the light burns mark the white wire with black tape. Remove the chandelier white striped wire and connect to the other white wire in the box.

If the chandelier does not burn move the chandelier, non-white striped wire to the other box white wire. Chandelier should burn. Mark that ceiling box white wire with black tape. Move the chandelier white striped wire to the other box white wire.
