You cannot collect Court ordered support unless he's the legal father.
Our relationship was short term and is very explosive. He knows he's the father but I would rather do it on my own.
It limits his rights until he tries to exercise them. If he decides he wants to be the father, then he simply has to get a paternity test and voilą, he's the legal father.
If you ever need (not want but need) to apply for public assistance, then will insist that you list the father and they will go after him.
