    Dog uncontrollable bladder after surgery
I have a 4 year old great dane and we had her fixed at a young age ( around 6 months give or take a month) ever since then we have had a problem with her having an uncontrollable bladder. She will be laying in the floor and all of a sudden we look over at her and there is a huge puddle of pee under her, she does not get up when she does this, she doesn't even know she is doing it. We have taken her to the vet and they told us that it could be from getting her fixed, but I have never heard of this happening and I tried to research about it but I have found nothing. They did give us some pills to give her to try and help out and they did for a while but it seems as she gets older it only gets worse (naturally). Any help trying to find out what this could have been caused from would be much appreciated or if anyone else has ever had this happen I would love to hear from them.

Sorry, but I have read that this happens to a lot of females after being spayed. I read it in some vet articles. From everything I have read is that a dog has not even developed the muscle to control the urine until at least 6 months of age. I am of the opinion that 6 months is way to early to spay dogs esp. if the owner is willing to keep the dog from becoming pregnant. From what I have read from varying opinions is that hormones play a great role in proper development.
If I can dig up the articles I will post them... but I read so much it is a slim chance.
